SEBI intends to increase penalties for high-frequency and algorithmic trades.

According to sources, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) intends to improve the way the order-to-trade ratio (OTR) is calculated and impose harsher fines on algorithmic and high-frequency traders for placing large requests against performed trades.
