Revenue Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey is the SEBI's 11th chairperson

Mr. Pandey replaces Madhabi Puri Buch, who completes her three-year tenure on February 28, 2025 The Indian government has appointed Finance Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a three-year term, effective March 1, 2025. He succeeds Madhabi Puri Buch, the first woman to lead SEBI, whose tenure concludes this month. During her term, Buch implemented significant regulatory changes, including stricter rules for India's derivatives markets to protect retail investors and enforced tougher corporate and fund house disclosures.


Tuhin Kanta Pandey, who has been serving as Finance Secretary since September 2024, brings extensive experience to his new role at SEBI.
