IT shares of TechM, Wipro, Infosys, and others increase by 3%, ending a seven-day losing trend.

Similar to the decline in US technology stocks, the IT industry has been under pressure in recent weeks.

Even though overall market sentiment remained negative, shares of IT giants like Tech Mahindra, Wipro, and Infosys saw gains of up to 3% on Monday, ending a seven-day losing skid.

As investors purchased into battered technology equities after a steep correction, the Nifty IT index increased 1.6 percent, becoming one of the top sectoral gainers in trading today.

With the exception of Persistent Systems, which saw a decline of more than 1 percent, nine out of the ten components of the Nifty IT index were in the green.
