In February, India's goods trade deficit decreased to $14.05 billion, the lowest level since August 2021.

As imports shrank more quickly than exports, India's merchandise trade imbalance in February sharply decreased to $14.05 billion from over $23 billion in January.

Additionally, the goods trade difference was smaller year over year than it was in February 2024, when it was $19.51.

Additionally, the ministry of commerce noted that a decrease in imports and a comparatively stable export market made February's deficit the lowest since August 2021.

According to preliminary data issued by the commerce ministry on March 17, goods imports dropped 16.35 percent to $50.96 billion in February, while merchandise exports declined 10.9 percent on-year to $36.91 billion.
