Coinbase registers with FIU to provide cryptocurrency trading services in India later this year.

Global crypto exchange As part of its plan to expand internationally, Coinbase has registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of India. Later this year, Coinbase will begin offering cryptocurrency trading services in the nation.


This occurs when the cryptocurrency industry is heating up due to US President Donald Trump's pro-crypto initiatives. Coinbase enters India, which is seen as a significant market for the industry, following in the footsteps of competitors Binance and KuCoin.


Later this year, Coinbase will begin offering its first retail services. This will be followed by more investments and product expansion.


The regional managing director for Asia Pacific at Coinbase, John O'Loghlen, stated, "We're dedicated to building in markets that believe in the potential of crypto and onchain innovation."
