As real estate, oil, and gas stocks rise, the Sensex closes slightly lower, the Nifty is close to 22,500, and IndusInd Bank plummets 27%.

On March 11, benchmark indices the Nifty and Sensex pulled off a spectacular afternoon recovery after a rocky start, finishing close to the flatline. An uptick in metal and oil and gas equities gave investors much-needed respite and improved confidence.


The Nifty was up 37.60 points, or 0.17 percent, at 22,497.90 at the closing, while the Sensex was down 12.85 points, or 0.02 percent, at 74,102.32. Approximately 2,406 shares fell, 115 shares remained steady, and 1,411 shares increased.
