8th Pay Commission: An explanation of the fitment factor hype, anticipated pay increase, and CPC creation schedule

The clock is ticking down to the Center's final statement about the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. Earlier this year, on January 16, the Cabinet announced the 8th Pay Commission, which might be put into effect by 2026 or 2027.

The decision was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said that it will assist central government employees in fighting the evil of excessive inflation. In addition to helping employees live better lives, the Prime Minister claimed that the 8th Pay Commission's ruling would increase spending. PM Modi praised the workforce, saying that all government workers are the key to creating a "Viksit Bharat."

According to the Center, the Pay Commission will formally be established "due course of time." Although the government has not yet released a statement, Moneycontrol previously stated that the commission would begin operations as early as April of next year and that the Cabinet may soon issue an official declaration. The Cabinet is expected to accept the terms of reference shortly. Prior to the CPC being fully created, this is the crucial step.
